Education (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Education is a path to consciousness and individual achievement.

Teach! (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Today, the elders need to teach the youth about their culture and history.

Black Panthers (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - As the ideas of the Civil Rights movement developed, the Black Power movement was led by the urban youth who grew up with the leaders of the 60’s. COINTELPRO would eventually eliminate or incarcerate the majority of the Panthers, giving way to the host of problems which persist today.

Malcolm X (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Other leaders believed that the Black community needed to address its own problems and solve them independently.

Martin Luther King Jr. (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Some leaders held the philosophy that the Black struggle and racism were America’s problem, and that everyone needed to fight it to change.

Frederick Douglass (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Oppression led to the struggle for humanity and equality and the emergence of great leaders.

Slavery (Taken with Instagram at Crenshaw District) - Sun up to sun down, the daily life of a slave was grueling and difficult.
