Portrait Practice #2 - I know some of you all might get tired of the same subject, but I never get tired of my wife!!!
A few more coming from the Art in the Streets exhibit - As I mentioned, there was an emphasis on LA artist and graffiti, which was much appreciated. This is a mural from Mister Cartoon, the famous tattoo artist and muralist. I have mixed feelings about what he promotes, but it is still nicely done! Check out Mister Cartoon at www.mistercartoon.com.
The Art in the Streets exhibit has gotten a lot of press lately, especially when two French artist were arrested on vandalism charges. The entire exterior of the building has been decorated as well. It was a good exhibit, you can’t leave it without wanting to do some of your own art!
I went to Little Tokyo today to check out the Art in the Streets exhibit at the Greffen, which is part of hte Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA). The museum had exhibits of LA artist such as Saber and Retna, as well as street art from around the world, including JR, as seen on the building in the picture! For more info on JR, check out insideoutproject.net.
